As some of us got ready to hop on a plane, hit the road or prepare a special meal, it's all for that one special person, MOM. In my career, I have been blessed to help hundreds of women become mothers! I have seen the profound need to fulfill the most important function of their bodies which is to create life and nurture. Life that brings a love that is so profound that only when you are a mother can you understand. As I was going through security at the airport Thursday evening I saw one of my patients. I wanted to shout out her name! She was with her two sons and as my excitement grew to finally meet the younger child I was also becoming anxious as I was losing her from sight and indeed I did. I cleared security and rushed out but realized that it was going to be impossible to find her. Suddenly, as I was walking towards my gate, she walked right across from me! Homeopathy is based on the notion that something that can give rise to symptoms in a healthy person can also be made to help treat those symptoms in someone who is sick. Hahnemann who founded this system of medicine described the essence of homeopathy as "similia similibus curentur", which means in Latin, let like be cured by like. Classic Homeopathy Classical homeopathy has only one rule and that is only one type remedy should be administered to a patient. This is the direct opposite of complex homeopathy which gives out a concoction of several types of remedies to a patient and basically violates the essence of homeopathic treatment. The remedy given depends on the manifested symptoms of the patient which may be physical mental and/or emotional. Definition Of A Homeopathic Remedy And It's Working Remedies that are homeopathic in nature are made of natural ingredients or materials specifically concocted and over diluted to ensure that no molecule of the original ingredient … [Read more...] about Defining Homeopathy and Homeopathic
Anyone who just completed a course in acupuncture from an acupuncture school would definitely want to pursue a career as an acupuncturist. But the question is how can you get into this kind of job? In order to become an acupuncturist, you would need to complete four year of tertiary study in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. You can also be entering a post graduate training program in traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and acupuncture theory. Secondary education in acupuncture would include useful subjects such as English and Chinese languages, chemistry and biology. In tertiary education, you would also need to complete certain requirements. In March 2008, the National Diploma in Acupuncture was de-registered by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority or NZQA. By 2009, all acupuncturists were required to have a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Acupuncture). But if you already have a degree in any health-related science course, then it is possible for you to be eligible … [Read more...] about Studying Acupuncture
